Our group went to the studio to record the scenes involving the close up shots of the finger cut. We used the studio as there was no need for the background to be in the shot, Therefore, we used the studio as it was easier to book. My role during this was the Camera Operator. This meant that I was setting up the shots with the Director of Photography and Director to make sure the shots were the same as the storyboard showed.

- Make sure all equipment is got at once. Not to go back and forth to get equipment.
- Setup all equipment within a short amount of time correctly and neatly.
- Listen to Director when they tell you what to do.
- Timescale is important to stick to.
- Everyone needs to understand their role.
- Help others if they are in desperate need of it.
- Director and 1AD is always in charge of group.
- All equipment checked before using and setting up.
- Communication is key when trying to sort out a group.
- All footage is uploaded as soon as possible. Equipment given back 20 minutes before lesson ends.

Product Safety Sheet

We have applied the glue on which the wax was be applied. We applied the glue so that the wax putty would not move around.

Then we applied the putty wax on the glue the wax adhered to the glue instantly which meant that we had to work fast so that the wax would not dry out to fast because then the wax putty would be harder to sculpt on and cut into.

Then we started to form the putty around the finger and I tried to blend it in so that it looks like the finger but inflated. This took some time but then it looks realistic and believable. This took a lot of time about 20-30 minutes but everyone was happy with the end result.

Then we applied white powder which dries out the skin of the wax putty and makes it easier to blend with the make-up which if the right skin tone is added makes it look way more realistic.

Following the makeup stage I cut into the wax putty so that I could simulate the fake cut on the finger.

Following the cutting we added in the lumps of jelly blood into the cut so that it looks like the blood has instantly appeared due to the deep cut made into the finger.

I used a sponge to apply blood around the cut and I used the dabbing technique.

Then we painted in the blood running down the finger using cream makeup. And for last I used a brush to dab on the jelly blood around the custom made wound so that it looks more realistic.

This is what the final product looked like when we shot.
